In Moosburg, the homeowners placed their trust in Stephanie Thatenhorst’s instinct for colors ranging from powder and tomato red to mint and petrol, for shapes and tactile impressions, and in return created an eclectic home of abundance. The turquoise front door in a Palm Springs retro look now serves as the gatekeeper to this anything-but-ordinary residence.

Individuality through Color and Pattern
That wall coverings (Ornami wallpaper), bold tones, patterned fabrics (ST collection cushions), and clever built-ins take center stage in this home becomes clear the moment you step into the hallway. Together, they create a sense of spaciousness even in the smallest areas while adding a refreshing dose of individuality.

Intricate Kitchen Design
This open kitchen is a true statement. The mint-colored built-in cabinet brings freshness to the existing layout, the geometric tile pattern (Mutina) adds a sense of spaciousness, and the bar stools (OUT) provide the final touch. Sky-blue panels set the stage for the dining area, which gains individuality through the pastel-patterned bench and the playful lighting concept. A mirrored cabinet offers both additional storage and a visual sense of lightness.

Truly Heartwarming
Unique tiles turn the entire Moosburg home into a deeply personal affair. In the living room, the fireplace sets the tone, complemented by the warm wood hues of the armchair (Menu) and the carefully color-coordinated built-ins. The rust-red velvet sofa (Arflex) brings a pure sense of comfort and ease.

A Grand Bedroom with a Hotel Feel
With a wardrobe zone tucked behind and an en suite bathroom, the main bedroom offers everything a private retreat requires. Set against natural beauties: serene palm prints. The bed (Bolzanletti), in soft powder tones, appears almost weightless, while the eccentric bedspread (Dimoremilano) completes the design. In the bathroom, separated by mirrored doors, the eccentric mood continues: extravagant patterned tiles form the base for a brightly colored vanity, with refined details completing the look.

Playful Design
Large-scale patterned wallpapers, telling stories of jungles (Hermès) or leafy forests, bring a playful sense of design into the children’s rooms. Under the gabled ceilings, imaginations can soar high and come to rest softly on iconic Stripe-Hype rugs (Karpeta).

Signature Tiles
The artful combination of tiles (here by Mutina) has long become one of Thatenhorst’s trademarks. Once again, they extend seamlessly from the floor across the walls and into the entire space. Each of the richly detailed bathrooms is individually designed, impresses with patterns and color, and embodies the unmistakable sense of style à la Stephanie Thatenhorst.
A Step Ahead
Tension and relaxation are only a step apart in this office. The work zone is cleverly disguised as a mint cube, while the meeting lounge—with its arrow-patterned wallpaper (Ornami), cushions (ST Collection), and tomato-red cabinet—becomes a creative think tank. The latter flows visually into the hallway, refined with built-in cabinets and an integrated bench. Clearly, a project of reimagined Mid-Century Modern—and one designed for everlasting comfort.
