With the capsule collection “COMUNIDAD CDMX”, Stephanie Thatenhorst enters into an inspiring collaboration with Acapulco Design – a company renowned for handcrafted design classics from Mexico. The result is a collection that unites Thatenhorst’s creative signature with Mexican design tradition: bold, emotional color compositions meet artisanal perfection.

CDMX - Colors of a Metropolis
The journey to Mexico City was the starting point for an intuitive creative exploration of the colors, culture, and atmosphere of the vibrant metropolis. Originally envisioned as a natural-toned collection, the process evolved into a colorful, urban concept – a deliberate break with expectations that reflects the spirit of CDMX: lively, contradictory, cosmopolitan.

Between Tradition and Vision:
Thatenhorst in Color
Stephanie Thatenhorst brings her unmistakable design philosophy to the project: using color to infuse spaces with emotion, blending timeless elegance with progressive aesthetics, and turning every design into a sensory experience. The collection exemplifies her ability to reinterpret tradition while filling spaces with character.
In addition to reimagined Acapulco Chairs, the collection also includes innovative products such as the brand’s first Hanging Chair and large, upholstered floor cushions (“El Cojín”), which combine comfort, versatility, and design. The color scheme developed by Thatenhorst gives the products a strong visual identity— inspired by Mexican joie de vivre, paired with a touch of urban luxury.
With this collection, Stephanie Thatenhorst makes a statement: for the fusion of craftsmanship and high-end interiors, for the creative potential of collaborations, and for design that tells stories—bold, vibrant, and full of emotion.
