Sgraffito and slip
Lena Harm's vases demonstrate how traditional techniques can be translated into a contemporary aesthetic. The surface is coated with a natural slip glaze and interspersed with delicate, hand-carved sgraffito flower motifs. These lines follow the rhythm of the hand—a gesture that makes each piece unique.
Lena Harms is a contemporary ceramicist whose work is characterized by a reduced formal language and subtle material aesthetics. In her studio, she creates handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces that combine traditional craftsmanship with a modern, almost archaic clarity.
