An object between Tuscan craftsmanship and mid-century
The vase INV1896, designed by Aldo Londi in 1960 for Bitossi Ceramics is a ceramic manifesto of structure and color. The slender cylinder displays Londi's signature interplay of embossed pattern, graphic order, and a powerfully applied turquoise-white glaze. Each vase is part of a limited edition of 199 pieces, crafted according to historical designs in the Bitossi Ceramiche workshops. The surface is embossed with ornamental bands reminiscent of ancient codes. Handmade in Italy.
Bitossi Ceramiche, based in Montelupo Fiorentino, is one of Italy's most renowned ceramic manufacturers. Since the mid-20th century, Bitossi has combined traditional craftsmanship with modern design – and its production remains entirely by hand.
