A satellite of light and color
The Phebe Pendant Lamp , designed exclusively for the Galleria Rossana Orlandi , is a floating object that oscillates between art and function. Two circular discs form the center of this lamp: a thin, bright Lucite ring at the top, and a multi-layered epoxy resin structure in purple and red nuances at the bottom. The form is reminiscent of Space Age aesthetics—futuristic, graphic, detached from gravity and time.
The angle of the two elements can be varied, thus altering the lighting effect—sometimes direct, sometimes diffuse, always atmospheric. Phebe is less a lamp than a sculptural gesture: a homage to visionary design and sensual materiality.
