An icon of lighting design - The Kelly lamp
Designed by Richard Kelly in 1953 for Philip Johnson's legendary Glass House, this lamp is a masterpiece of subtle lighting design. To avoid distracting reflections in the glass facades, Kelly developed a floor lamp that emits its light softly and glare-free through a conical shade. It thus blends into the space like an architectural element, creating warm, atmospheric ambient lighting and emphasizing furniture and architecture without itself becoming the focus of attention. With its clear form, high-quality materials, and balance of function and elegance, it remains an icon of modern lighting design.
